We pray for those affected by yesterday's tragic shooting at The Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis, MD.
We entrust our beloved deceased to your love and mercy. We entrust our community to your comfort and peace. We entrust our fear, our doubt, our uncertainty, to your providential care, O Lord. Be present to us. Help us to love as you love and help us to build a community of peace.
We pray for the victims of this terrible crime, for the survivors, and for their families. We pray for their friends and neighbors who loved them. We pray for the conversion of the perpetrator of this terrible crime. And we pray for our city – for healing and for strength to go forward.
You are our hope, Lord. We look to your Resurrection as a sure sign that death does not defeat us – that death is not the end. Instead, we pray that each of us may join in the victory of your Resurrection.
We ask this as we ask all things through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Let’s get the social media sparks flying and kick-off this holiday weekend by thanking our military service members!
St. Thomas’ is proud to announce that we have partnered with the “A Million Thanks” organization to help show support and appreciation to our active and veteran military men and women through sending letters and granting betterment of life wishes.
St. Thomas' is now an official drop-off location for cards, letters, emails, and prayer messages of appreciation for our military, past and present. It is our goal to see that our military – active, reserve, and veterans – receive these messages, whether they are serving at home, abroad, or are injured in hospitals.
To ensure we get off to a strong start we invite you to join our Facebook Group “Thank Our Military Service Members”, and choose one or all of these ways to show your support by posting on our group page or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org:
a) Get the sparks flying with your most festive 4th of July photo. The 20 most liked photos will be published in a professional photo book and sent oversees for our troops to enjoy.
b) Put your poetic foot forward, and submit a short poem that captures what Independence Day means to you, and it could be published in our thank you book being sent overseas. .
c) Tag a veteran or active service member that you'd like to thank, and us tell us why. Family, friend, or stranger we want to hear their story!
d) Write a letter or draw a picture and St. Thomas' will send it to the appropriate military service branch.
Submissions for our photo-story book are due by July 9th. St. Thomas' will continue to accept letters, cards, and photos to send to our troops after that date. More details will be available on our website soon. ...
